The Pumpkin Patch

We had a combined FHE with Brad and LaDeanna's family monday night.  We went to the pumpkin patch at Herrick's farm.  It was a beautiful fall day.  It was good for Grandpa to get out and as you can see from the pictures, he had a good time.  We went to Brad and LaDeanna's for dinner and had hamburger enchiladas.  Grandpa said his eyes were bigger than his stomach and he was getting full, but somehow he made room for a big cinnamon roll for dessert!

Going for a hay ride!

His pick of the pumpkins!

On a sadder note...Grandpa received news earlier in the day that his driver's license was being suspended until he can pass the required exams.  He has already taken them a few times and has not passed.  He feels a bit discouraged and will probably need time to adjust.  Its hard to lose the privilege of driving when you have been doing it for so many years.  Maybe family members could remember him in their prayers as he continues to adjust to the changes that have come his way.

Paula's Visit

Paula comes to visit every Sunday evening.  They enjoy visiting in Grandpa's room.  Last night we had apple pie and homemade ice cream.  When we sat at the table, Hyrum says, "So Paula, how are things going?"  Grandpa gets a kick out him.  Anytime anyone is in town, feel free to come by for a visit!

As you can see from the picture, Grandpa kicked off his shoes and was quite comfortable!

Ouch!

Grandpa tells the story of his dad, the state trooper, and a little incident he had one day.
